I took my driver’s permit test three times and failed all of them on the picture portion of it. I have read the handbook cover to cover twice, and have studied the picture section several times (It was the same DMV every time). I was told when I tried to take it the fourth and hopefully final time that I needed to go to a Driver Improvement course. Am I the only person who finds that ridiculous? Anyway, is there any way I can take the test without having to go the course? I live in Virginia.
Each time they added a sneaky picture that wasn’t in the book nor the practice test that I’ve aced countless times. I would have to say that I know just about all of them now.

I am taking my Drivers test in Dublin,Pa in two weeks and I’m stressing myself out so much. I know I have to parallel park and I’m okay with that, but do I have to back into a parking space? I can pull in and back out but I suck at backing in and pulling out. Also in general is it a hard test?

And I am having a problem with hesitation- I end up slowing down on roundabouts,giving way when I don’t need to and stopping drivers behind me but I just panic and basically slow down that I have to stop :/ Any advice on how to overcome this?

Hello, I have my driving test soon :/ eek! I’ll be doing it in my own car and my instructor mentioned to me that I should bring my MOT certificate and insurance papers for my test, just in case. I have my MOT one but my parents have my insurance one and I haven’t told them about my test because I don’t need the pressure. Do I really need these papers for my test or don’t they bother checking them?

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being the easiest and 10 the hardest, how would you rate the CA driving test? Also, how would you rate driving an automatic transmission car in general?(on level of difficulty terms).

I have my driving test tomorrow and I am taking it in an automatic car. I have some questions to ask just so I definitely understand what to do on the day.

Q1. When stopping at the lights, I know I have to put the handbrake on and into neutral. Do I have to do the same when stopping at Give way or any other time when stopping in the road?

Q2. When doing an emergency stop and parallel parking, once I have done it, do i have to put the handbrake on and the into parking or into neutral?

Q3. If I make a mistake when reversing around a corner, parallel parking etc, shall I just carry on and do it again or ask the examiner what I should do. I’ve been told that they do not talk to you unless giving instructions so they will not answer and questions?

Any other tips would be great too!
I’m mainly worried about the ‘Show me Tell me’ part. If I don’t know the answer at all and am completely stuck, should I just say it to the examiner or just guess?

well i failed my driving test on my birthday which was on the 16th of december for changing lanes to close to a car because i now realise i was doing headchecks too much and not using my mirrors enough. well anyways my driving instructor said they could book one on the 4th of january which i was happy with then for some reason she changed it to the 10th which i was still ok with but now she just texted me and told me its on the 20th of febuary. i just feel pised off now because i love driving and i have to wait over 2 months to try again. i dont know why im writing this but i just feel better doing so, it would be good to hear what you guys have to say.
